Five steps to a relaxed visit

The first visit takes about forty minutes. We ask a lot of questions: what it eats, where it lives, how long it has been with you. With these five steps you arrive relaxed and we get through everything.

  1. Book an appointment

Through the online booking system or on WhatsApp. Tell us what animal it is and what is wrong: we give exotics more time and find them a slot when the waiting room is quiet.

  2. The carrier

Always closed and escape-proof, even if it roams free at home. Put a towel or its blanket inside so it doesn't slip.

    Rabbits and rodents
A handful of its hay inside: if it eats during the journey, all the better.
    Birds
Its small cage or a carrier covered with a cloth. No toys that move around.
    Reptiles
A plastic tub with holes or a cloth bag inside a cool box.
  3. The temperature

This is what we are most careful about. In summer, never leave the car in the sun: in Málaga, a carrier inside a car goes over 40 °C in minutes. In winter, keep it covered.

    Reptiles
A hot water bottle filled with lukewarm water, wrapped in a towel and never touching the animal.
    Rabbits and ferrets
Rabbits cope worse with heat than with cold.
  4. Fasting

For a normal consultation there is no need to fast. For an operation, we will tell you when you book, and it depends a lot on the animal.

    Rabbits and guinea pigs
Never on an empty stomach: they must keep eating right up to the last moment.
    Ferrets
About four hours without food before an operation.
    Birds and reptiles
We will explain according to the species and its size.
  5. What to bring

Things that save us questions and tests.

    Paperwork
Its passport or papers, if it has any, and reports from other clinics.
    Photos
Photos of the cage or vivarium, showing the lamp and the thermometer.
    Sample and food
A fresh dropping from that day in a clean pot, and a photo or the bag of its food.
