What I do

Livestock

Sheep and pigs, on the farm

  • Herd testing: tuberculosis and brucellosis, with the local animal health group
  • Lambing, farrowing and caesareans: day and night, in the lambing shed
  • Health plans: scheduled vaccination and worming for the flock
  • Biosecurity on pig farms: regular visits and the farm register
  • Post-mortems and lab tests: I take the samples and send them to the lab
  • Veterinary prescriptions: written on the visit, no need to come to the surgery

Horses and dogs

At the surgery or wherever they are

  • Lameness: examination and hoof check, with the farrier if needed
  • Vaccinations and worming
  • Microchip and passport: for dogs, cats and horses
  • Hunting injuries: wild boar gashes and thorns, the same day
  • Pre-season check-up: for hunting packs and pointing dogs
  • Colic: call as soon as you see it, don't wait

Farm visits must be booked a day ahead. Travel within the area: €15 per visit, even if I look at the whole flock.

Villages I cover

My round covers the eighteen villages of the Matarraña and the farmhouses around them. The surgery is in the village, on the square.

About me

I'm Mateo. I grew up on a farmhouse here and studied Veterinary Medicine in Zaragoza.

Since 2014 I have been driving the 4x4 along the tracks of the Matarraña: sheep, pigs, horses and the hunters' dogs.

What I can fix on the farm, I fix there; what I can't, I take to the surgery.
