Las Ocho Higueras

Three white houses among fig trees, in the Alpujarra

We restored the family farmhouse without touching its lime or its flat clay roofs. Today it is three apartments for two to four people, with a pool, a vegetable garden and a terrace over the gorge.

The three apartments

Each one has its own door, its own kitchen and its own patch of shade. We hand you the key and the garden, and we live fifty metres away if you need anything.

What we share

The three apartments share what the farmhouse already had before we arrived.

  • The pool

Ten metres of mountain water among olive trees, open May to October. Sun loungers and vine shade.

  • The vegetable garden

Pick whatever is ripe. In November there are pomegranates, persimmons, cabbages and the last dried figs.

  • The threshing-floor terrace

The old stone threshing floor, now with a long table. At dusk the Contraviesa hills turn pink.
