Air conditioning
Split, multi-split and ducted systems for houses, flats and shops. We explain which unit each room needs before we talk about brands.

What it is and how it works
An air conditioner doesn't make cold: it takes the heat out of the room and carries it outside. The indoor unit picks up the heat from the air, the gas carries it through two copper pipes and the outdoor unit releases it.
Almost every unit today is a heat pump, so it heats in winter too. In spring and autumn, and in a well-insulated home, it can be all the heating you need.
What matters most for it to work well isn't the brand. It's that the output is right for the room, that the outdoor unit gets enough air and that the drain is done properly.

Which home is it right for?
What we usually recommend in the area. We confirm it with measurements on the visit.
One bedroom or the living room
A 1x1 split per room. The cheapest to install and to repair.
Flat with two or three rooms
Multi-split, with a single unit outside. It takes up less of the wall, but if it breaks down they all stop.
Refurbishment or premises with a suspended ceiling
Ducts with grilles in each room. You can't see any unit and it spreads the air better.
Listed façade or no room outside
In the old towns of Huesca and Barbastro you need permission. Sometimes the only option is a unit with no outdoor part, which is noisier.

Frequently asked questions
How many kW do I need for my room?
As a rough guide, about 100 W per square metre in a typical Huesca home, and more if it faces south, is under the roof or has a lot of glass. We measure it on the visit, because a unit that's too small can't keep up and one that's too big uses more and cools in bursts.
Do I need permission to put the outdoor unit up?
On the main façade you nearly always need the residents' association's permission and, in listed buildings, the town hall's too. In light wells and on terraces, letting the association know is usually enough. We tell you what applies to you before we start.
How long does it take to install a split?
A standard 1x1 split, one morning. A multi-split, one day. Ducted systems, two to four days depending on the job. Right now we're giving installation dates about two weeks out.
What gas do the units you fit use?
R-32, which is standard in home units today and warms the planet far less than the R-410A in older units. It can only be handled by staff with a fluorinated gas certificate, like ours.
Can I use it for heating too?
Yes, every unit we fit is a heat pump. In a well-insulated flat it can be the only heating. If you have radiators and a boiler, our heat pump page explains which option pays off more.
Shall we take a look at your home or your premises?
A free visit in our area and a written quote, with VAT, in about three days.
